Meet Weiss Wellness Physical Trainer Sara Dimmick

Originally from Maryland, Sara’s interest in personal training began while she attended Florida State University under a dance performance scholarship. In 2000, Sara graduated moved to NYC to be a professional dancer.  She arrived with two suitcases and $2000 on the Amtrak train.  Her education, which included classes in kinesiology, nutrition, dance conditioning and injury prevention, inspired her to pursue a side career as a personal trainer when she wasn’t performing or choreographing. She started at New York Sports Club, where she quickly became one of their highest paid, most fully booked Master Trainers. This was when she realized that teaching fitness was her true calling. In 2003, Sara began her own personal training business, Physical Equilibrium.

Certifications include:

    • National Strength and Conditioning Association Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (NSCA-CSCS)
    • Post Rehab Conditioning from the American Academy of Health, Fitness and Rehab Professionals (AAHFRP)
    • USA Triathlon Level 1 Coach/Training Peaks Level 2 Coach
    • Pre/Post Natal Fitness

Using her knowledge of injury prevention and post rehabilitation fitness, Sara designs effective and safe gym programs for her clients to excel and stay injury-free. She has also coached triathlon and running clients since 2006, many of who have qualified for national and world competitions. Becoming a mom was the driving force behind the creation of Physical Equilibrium’s FamFit series, fitness classes for kids and families. Besides private training she teaches group classes in strength training for endurance athletes, family workouts with kids, and other total body strengthening classes for adults.

Sara is a recognized thought leader on health and fitness and has contributed to numerous media stories, both nationally and regionally. She is an avid triathlon competitor and completed everything from sprint to half-ironman distances throughout the country as well as running and marathon races. Her most exciting race was completing the world-renowned Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon several times.

Dr. Elise Weiss, MD

Dr. Elise Weiss founded Weiss Wellness to help people change their health and as a result, their lives. After years of treating injured patients, she noticed that there was much work to be done after physical recovery. She became increasingly aware that for so many, limitation wasn't about a specific injury but rather, lifestyle and systemic balance. Over time, she encountered talented practitioners from many specialties who shared a common vision. It is now our joint goal, to assist as many people as we can, in their endeavor to comprehensive health and wellness.
