Dr. Weiss is out of network with all insurance companies including medicare. Being out of network does not mean that your insurance plan will not cover your care. There are many variations between plans and it is best to call and provide your insurance information so that our office can assess the details and specifics of your coverage. We will then contact you to review your policy coverage with you.

Please provide 24 hours notice if you are unable to keep your appointment. There is a fee for same day cancellations equal to the cost of your appointment.

If you are a new patient or have not seen our providers in over a year, please anticipate filling out forms prior to your visit. In order for our providers to maximize their time with you, it is advised that you fill these forms out prior to your visit or arrive 20 minutes early to do so.

Following any injection procedure, there may be temporary soreness at the injection site and/or numbness in the upper or lower extremities for several hours after the procedure. A mild to moderate increase in your pain may occur

Ice can be applied to the injection site, for any post-injection soreness or discomfort. You may resume taking any and all medications after the procedure, unless instructed otherwise. You may proceed with physical therapy 24 hours after the procedure as long as you do not have significant pain. Once you start to feel better, do not engage in any vigorous exercise until after your follow up appointment. Please pay very close attention to the degree, as well as the duration and location of any pain relief that you experience. Call the office immediately if you develop increased pain, swelling or redness at the injection site or fever.

If you received a corticosteroid injection: Please refrain from activity for 72 hours. Temporary side effects from corticosteroids include stomach upset, insomnia, facial flushing and irritability. Some women may experience menstrual cycle irregularities. Should you develop any unexpected symptoms, please do not hesitate to call the office. It can take up to a week to notice an improvement from these injections.

If you received PRP or prolotherapy, please do not use any NSAIDS after the procedure. The duration of this restriction will vary based on the treatment and can range from days to weeks. This includes but is not limited to Voltaren (Diclofenac), Mobic (meloxicam), Motrin, Advil, Ibuprofen, Aleve, Naproxen. Acetaminophen/Tylenol is okay to take as needed. For 2 weeks following the injection, activity should be restricted unless instructed otherwise.

If you received viscosupplementation, please refrain from activity for 72 hours.

Many injections take only 5 to 10 minutes to perform. All injection procedures are done using state-of-the-art ultrasound guidance. Most patients are able to return to work immediately following the procedure. It is recommended that you eat or drink the day of your treatment. If you are systemically ill, please inform our office so that the safety of your procedure can be assessed.

If you are receiving platelet rich plasma, discontinue use of NSAIDs (Ibuprofen, Motrin, Aleve, etc.) 5 days prior to the procedure.
