Dr. Elise Weiss, MD is a Columbia and Cornell trained Physiatrist, a medical speciality devoted to achieving better physical health and healing without surgery. Specifically, she specializes in Musculoskeletal Medicine and Sports Medicine.
Dr. Weiss is highly experienced in the diagnosis and treatment of all orthopedic conditions, frequently treating spine, joint, tendon, muscle and nerve problems. After a comprehensive history and physical examination, patients receive an individualized treatment plan which may include activity modification, nutritional recommendations, therapeutic exercise, medication, and/or injection procedures.
Dr. Weiss received her Bachelor of Science with Honors from Cornell University and returned to New York City to attend medical school at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons. After receiving her Medical Degree, she completed her Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation residency training at Columbia and Cornell University’s combined New York Presbyterian Hospital Program. Dr. Weiss is a Board Certified Physician. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Weiss has been an on site physician for many athletic events. She has co-authored numerous publications on the topics of sports injury, nutrition, athletic training, arthritis, sciatica and the use of Botox in the treatment of migraines, musculoskeletal disorders, neuropathic pain and spasticity. In addition to seeing patients in her private practice, she is also a Clinical Instructor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New York Presbyterian Hospital at Weill Cornell.
