Stem cell therapy allows you to take advantage of your body’s ability to heal itself. Laboratory and clinical research show that it is possible to use the regenerative cells in our body to restore and repair damaged or aging cells and effectively regenerate tissues in the body. Our procedure utilizes the stem cells in adipose tissue to enhance the natural repair process of your tendons, ligaments and joints. Learn more about stem cell therapy.
How is this done?
A small sample of fat is removed from the abdomen under a local anesthetic. It is then put through a specialized process to separate the stem cells and prepare them for injection. Our technology allows us to complete the entire procedure on the same day using minimally invasive methods.
Is it effective?
Stem cell use is evidenced based. There continues to be expanding indications for use of stem cells for repairing cartilage, treating arthritis and healing tendon tears.
Why fat and not bone marrow?
Obtaining adipose derived stem cells is much easier and less painful than performing a bone marrow aspirate. In addition, adipose tissue contains higher levels of stem cells than the bone marrow.
Is it safe?
Yes. Adipose tissue is removed from your own body via sterile tehcnique and remains in a controlled environment to prevent infection. Every procedure has risks. Most notably, infection and bleeding. by utilizing sterile techniques, this risk is minmized.
How do I know if stem cell is right for me?
Dr Weiss will discuss all your treatment options and determine if stem cell therapy makes sense for your condition.
How quickly does it work?
A decrease in pain may be seen as early as 2 weeks but the entire healing process can take 3-4 months.
