Dr. Michael Weiss is a trained psychiatrist and diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with over ten years clinical experience in the treatment of a wide range of clinical disorders. He graduated from University of Miami Medical School in 1998 after completing a 6 year integrated program of undergraduate and graduate study. He completed his residency training at Mount Sinai in 2002.
Dr. Weiss focuses on an holistic approach. He draws from many disciplines to create an individualized treatment plan to meet each patient’s personal goals. Dr. Weiss has an extensive knowledge of both psychological and biological modalities of treatment, including psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, psychopharmacology and biofeedback.
Dr. Weiss believes that the best outcomes are a result of a “team” approach. He collaborates with not only the patient, but other physicians and therapists who are involved in the therapeutic process.
Dr. Weiss’ specialties include the treatment of anxiety, depression, attention deficit disorder, alcohol and substance abuse. He also focuses on wellness interventions such as stress and pain management, weight loss, behavioral modification and smoking cessation.
